Job Description

One of Vaco’s Clients is seeking a pro-active and collaborative Accounting Manager to join their team.
The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and cost accounting within a growing, global manufacturing organization. This hands-on leader will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while developing team members and improving financial processes. Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting:

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements.
• Oversee A/R, A/P, and general ledger functions.
• Lead audits and support external tax and compliance requirements.

Cost Accounting & Operations:

• Manage cost accounting processes for inventory, raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Analyze margins, monitor inventory accuracy, and support annual physical counts.
• Ensure accurate sales/use tax reporting and remittance.

Leadership & Process Improvement:

• Mentor and develop accounting staff to achieve department goals.
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with finance and operations leadership on budgeting and variance analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including cost accounting in manufacturing.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and multi-currency accounting.
• Advanced Excel and ERP skills (Chempax experience preferred).
• CPA/CMA or Master’s degree a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Up to $140k base 
• Annual discretionary bonus
