General Ledger Accountant

Honolulu, HI • Full-Time • $50,000-$65,000/year

Join a respected civil engineering firm with long-standing roots in Hawaii. This role owns Accounts Payable end to end while supporting project teams and contributing to accurate month-end closes-great runway toward broader GL responsibilities and project-based accounting.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end AP : intake, verification/coding, approvals, and invoice processing.
• Run payments & manage vendors : checks/ACH, statement reconciliations, issue resolution, W-9/COI upkeep.
• Maintain records & support close : accurate AP subledger/files; assist with accruals, reconciliations, and variance notes.
• Partner with project teams : job-cost coding, budgets/timelines, and timely spend reporting.
• Improve processes & controls : streamline workflows, support audits, and ad-hoc analyses.

What you bring

• 2-5 years in Accounts Payable or general ledger accounting
• Solid grasp of GAAP and accounting workflows; accuracy under deadlines
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office
• Clear, professional communication with vendors and internal teams
