Position summary:

This hourly non-exempt position is an entry level position to provide machining assistance in support of machining Department and client requests. Set up, clean, and operate machinery for the fabrication of parts. On-the-job training available for machining and coding, with room for advancement in machining and manufacturing department.

Job Duties:

• Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
• Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Set up and operate CNC equipment.
• Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
• Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure - parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.
• Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined within a .001 tolerance.
• Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.

Skills:

• Strong mathematical skills.
• Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.
• Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
• Able to work under own initiative.
• Flexible, courteous, friendly, and positive approach.
• Discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/Sit* - Moderate physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs. and above.

• This position requires activities involving being around moving machinery, loud noises, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
