Job Description

Join our dynamic team in Hudson, NY as a Quality Control Assistant in Food Production, where you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards of food safety and quality. This position is an excellent opportunity for professionals dedicated to ensuring that our food processing plant operates efficiently and in compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily audits to monitor compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance of detailed logs for various production processes, including pre-operation checks, cooking and cooling, packing, and more.
  • Calibrate and document the performance of thermometers and ensure annual calibration of certified devices.
  • Collaborate with upper management to report team efforts and quality control findings.
  • Define testing standards and strategies to meet industry and company standards.
  • Inspect and document the receiving process to maintain temperature and quality standards for all incoming produce.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the facility through regular inspections of food production and storage areas.
  • Facilitate daily operations and activities, focusing on food safety measures.
  • Lead the HACCP Plan and manage food safety and defense programs.
  • Design and implement quality programs to enhance safety compliance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies such as USDA and FDA.
  • Conduct regular quality control audits and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to integrate quality control into processes.
  • Request and manage yearly vendor documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a QC or QA role within food manufacturing.
  • HACCP Certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP or PPE standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary range: $50,000 to $65,000 per year.
  • Comprehensive benefits package available.
