Teacher of Visual Art & Art History
Full-Time Position
Scranton Preparatory School is currently accepting applications for qualified, visionary, and dynamic applicants.
The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:
§ Bachelor’s degree in visual art, art education, or art history. Master’s degree or MFA preferred.
§ Previous high school teaching experience. Advanced Placement & other upper-level course teaching experience preferred.
§ Ability to demonstrate and/or articulate planning, teaching, assessment, and classroom management skills in both studio-based and lecture-based courses, including preparing students for an AP Art History Exam through historical art analysis and writing skills.
§ Strong knowledge of current trends in both visual art and art history education.
§ Experience using instructional technology.
§ Willingness to participate in professional learning about the AP History curriculum and/or other art and art education offerings.
§ A willingness, imagination, and enthusiasm for designing new coursework as the Fine Arts curriculum evolves.
§ Possesses a genuine enthusiasm for and interest in the co-curricular aspects of the school community.
§ Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
§ Willingness to animate the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school and its philosophy and values.
